Here's the first icon:
Just 3D glasses with a camera lens. Nothing about food.
Then I scaled it up and rounded the corners:
Now I've added an egg:
Will probably modify it in the near future to make the egg pop out in a little bit of 3D.
Also, I love the eyebrow blinking animation. I hope it's not weird.
Update (January 3, 2025)
It's 6 days later and I made some slight modifications to the icon. I'm going to ship this.
Added keyline strokes around the shapes for that hand-drawn feel, and a tinted variant for iOS.
Update (February 22, 2026)
Dropped the keyline strokes and grid pattern. Replaced them with offset red/teal fringe layers behind the glasses for an anaglyph 3D effect.
Update (February 28, 2026)
Complete redesign. The 3D glasses concept is gone entirely. The new icon is a dolsot bibimbap — a stone bowl filled with rice, vegetables, egg yolk, and all the toppings. Finally an icon that's actually about food.
